A small studio-made charm created from reclaimed materials gathered throughout the making process. Each piece combines free-motion machine embroidery with a hand-sculpted polymer clay element, formed from remnants of an earlier body of work. The reverse is finished with reclaimed black cotton, making use of fabric left over from the studio.
Every charm is assembled individually, with variations in stitch, colour and composition reflecting the materials available at the time of making.
Reclaimed textile front and backing
Hand-sculpted polymer clay detail
Free-motion machine embroidery
Black cotton reverse
Swivel lobster clasp
Approx. 5.5 × 3.5 cm
Each charm is assembled by hand in my Melbourne studio using reclaimed materials. Textile offcuts and archived polymer clay fragments are brought together through stitch to create a small, functional object with its own character.
Attach to keys, a favourite bag, pouch or belt loop using the swivel lobster clasp.
